One Story at a Time — because every piece involved has the power to heal, rebuild and inspire.
About the Show:
Featuring storytellers from Central PA, New York City, Baltimore and beyond, Here & Heard brings together a dynamic collection of voices and perspectives for an experience that explores identity, history, grief, resilience, joy, healing and transformation.
“Peace comes when we pick up the pieces and put them back together in a way that makes us stronger.”
Inspired by those words from Sharia Benn, Sankofa’s Executive Artistic Director, the program invites audiences to experience how art can help us reflect, reconnect, rebuild and imagine what is possible.
Proceeds from Here & Heard benefit Sankofa African American Theatre Company and its continued work - now in its 10th year - to amplify its stories and create space for artists and community through the performing arts.
Here & Heard is best suited for audience members ages 16 and older.
This special program will be held at The Appell Center For the performing arts.
Performance Schedule:
Saturday, September 26. One performance only.
Doors open at 2:30 pm for food at socializing;
Performance begins at 3 pm
PERFORMANCE WILL BE IN THE STUDIO THEATRE
