The Merry Wives of Windsor | Lancaster | June 20-25, 2023
Shakespeare in the park has never been as much fun as it will be this month!
Set in the mid 1950’s, the play’s characters gather at a resort near Windsor, Connecticut for a hilarious take-down of Sir John Falstaff, whose bad behavior demands a course correction.
In spite of the rigid 1950’s norms, Merry Wives is a surprisingly feminist comedy. A pair of housewives deliver Falstaff’s uproarious comeuppance, including a dunk in the river and a dressing up in a pair of horns.
Performances of The Merry Wives of Windsor will take place at LancasterHistory, 230 North President Avenue Lancaster, PA 17603.

This is a curated view of the queer spectrum as told through monologues derived by interviews. Performances will be at Hershey Area Playhouse 830 Cherry Dr. Hershey, PA 17033

Join Gamut Theatre Group's Harrisburg Shakespeare Company for the 30th Annual Free Shakespeare in the Park held at Reservoir Park in Harrisburg!
Devil. Tyrant. Boar. Richard III delights in playing all of these roles on his way to the one he really wants: King. His notorious cruelty matches his lust for power as he plays a strategic game for the crown. His gains begin to cost him, though, as his wary allies and fractured country pay the price for his ambition. Through mastery, manipulation, and deceit, Richard III has lured audiences into his schemes for centuries, proving the enduring and corrupting nature of power. As those around him fall prey to his violent whims, we are compelled to see how the political pitfalls Shakespeare uncovers not only reflect his own time, but also, alarmingly, our own.
Nearly 3,000 people see Free Shakespeare in the Park every summer. You should be one of them! Bring a blanket, a chair, and some loved ones to Harrisburg’s beautiful Reservoir Park to experience the beauty of Shakespeare under the stars.
